About Hilary Holland
My name is Hilary Holland and I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for the past 12 years in Greater Manchester and the High Peak. Prior to that I worked in the media and the NHS.
Currently, I work in private practice at my home in New Mills and as a practice counsellor in a GP surgery in Buxton. I am developing my interest in outdoor activities as a tool for theraputic change. I am married and have one daughter aged 22 years.
I work well with clients who have had problems with relationships, either through separation, bereavement or because their families have been emotionally unavailable, and as a result have difficulty in relating to partners, family, friends and work colleagues.
My other areas of interest are in anxiety and panic attacks and the affects that trauma and stress have on the body.
In addition to working with individuals, I run therapy groups, organise professional development workshops for counsellors and psychotherapists and offer clinical supervision to colleagues.
I can work with:
- Anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Stress
- Bereavement
- Depression
- Parenting
- Relationship problems
- Abuse
- Difficulty in adjusting to change
- Feeling unhappy with life
